Someone by Walter John de la Mare Bengali Meaning
Someone
Walter John de la Mare
Let's read:
Someone came knocking
At my wee, small door;
আমার খুবই ছোটো দরজায়;
Someone came knocking;
কেউ এসে টোকা মারছিল;
I'm sure-sure-sure;
আমি নিশ্চিত-নিশ্চিত-নিশ্চিত;
I listened, I opened,
I looked to left and right,
But nought there was a stirring
In the still, dark night;
নিশ্চুপ, অন্ধকার রাতে;
Only the busy beetle
Tap-tapping in the wall,
Only from the forest
The screech-owl's call,
Only the cricket whistling
While the dewdrops fall,
So I know not who came knocking,
At all, at all, at all.

Spending A Moonlit Night In A Forest Guest House
Last month, I with my family went to Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh. We stayed two days and two nights in a forest guest house. It was a beautiful guest house with all facilities. On the second day, we spent a moonlit night in the lawn of the guest house. It was seemed that everything around us was bathed in moonlight. We heard amazing sounds of many animals. It filled me with excitement and fear. The first sound we heard was the roar of a tiger. We also heared monkey's chattering, the laughing of hyenas, the distant hoots of an owl and many more eerie sounds. First time I heard such kinds of sounds. All those sounds made us feel scared and panicky but it was altogether a different experience.

When the moon is full, it seemed that everything is bathed in moonlight. Being amused by the moonlit night I hoot. I am very lucky to experience the scenic beauty of the world that is so different at night. I enjoy the night very much.
